The idea behind a laser disc and what it looks like |
What is a laser disc and what can it do?
Laser Disc's were introduced to arcades to make leveling types games more advanced and complex with the ability to go from one level to another without the need to advance through all the parts. This then allowed for the ability to skip through parts of a game which had already been completed by players, which added a level of sophistication to leveling systems. This also gave the ability to have jump sections with multi-plot endings, meaning that a user has the ability to choose there own ending and play the game they want.
This was the next step in technology for the arcades where more complex endings and detailed storyline could be introduced into the simplest of games, making games before this seem very basic. This added the idea of more complex and advanced games into the arcade scene, making future developments more interesting.
