Evaluation:

The features of the console have changed dramatically over the years to support the growing demand for change and advancement to the features and functions the console provides. Since it's first design and development boosts have had to be made to ensure this demand was met, the design of the console needed to be changed to stop the problem of the red ring of death, caused by overheating hardware within the console. Another feature which caused several problems was the fact that the console didn't have sufficient measures to allow for wireless game play when used within a household. This was due to the fact that the console never came built in with a wireless adapter to connect to a wireless hot spot unlike other consoles which came out such as the PlayStation 3 which had a Wi-Fi adapter built in. As of this drawback it meant that people who wanted to use the console wireless at home on their network were unable to do so, and would need the means of a external wireless adapter or they would need to support a wired connection directly into the console. This was another drawback to their console success as people who wanted pure wireless support couldn't justify the reason to spend £60 more so they swapped from Xbox to PlayStation as the wireless support lacked & the cost of Xbox live to play Online still remains redundant on the PlayStation which allows for free Online play.

Overall the console has both good features, good function and limitations which have been taken into consideration & adapted into the new models of the console when the Xbox 360 S was released into the market. Due to increase in gaming demand during 2006 with the rumored release of both the Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3, it was a devastating effect when the console had been released with problems such as the red ring of death which was triggered due to the console becoming overheated and hardware within the console burning out within the first 2 weeks. This had lead to a mass increase of console returns and repairs, which forced Microsoft to re-think their design of the console however, due to a increase in sales the following Christmas, design & development was held back until 2010 where the new consoles concept designs and development was put into the market. This lead to an additional boost in sales and created one the ultimate consoles on the market to date.

Overall I find that since the start of the consoles development this has led to a major advancement behind the technologies and gaming experience which we are enticed with today. I feel that due to the corrections which have been made to the console over the period of 6 years has revolutionized the experience in which players receive.
